Finally, the truth unveiled and yes, POS Malaysia did collaborate with Kaspersky to issue this special booklet. Checkout the article I got from theStar dated 8th December 2009.

I guess the image below speaks for itself.

From left) Director of TechLane Resources Sdn Bhd CH Tan, chief operating officer of PosNiaga Datuk Mearia Hamzah, Philatelic Society of Malaysia president VT Nathan and Cheung with the set of stamps.

Though its finally proven to be a collaboration between Kaspersky and POS Malaysia but there is definitely an uneasy feeling among Malaysian philatelist. The most intriguing thing here is that most PSM members are not aware of this issue. How can this be when our President Mr VT Nathan was there to launch the booklet. Something's wrong somewhere....

This booklet is still very ambiguous and there are just so many controversial matters surrounding this particular issue. However, I definitely believe with the right price, its a good item to have in a Malaysian Collection but for me, sorry; just not my type. Come on, using the same stamps with a different booklet? That's rather lame if you ask me.

I would love to know if this sort of scenarios do happen in your country. Appreciate comments and feedbacks.

Pos Malaysia is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) by dedicating its Caring Society stamps to the world’s children.

The five stamps, which was launched on 9th Octocber 2009, also honours Unicef for its role in protecting children and their right to survival, development and protection by carrying the UNICEF logo.

The photo above shows UNICEF child representative Nur Ain Atiqah Nur Anuar, 14, showing stamps and first day covers in honour of the 20th anniversary of the convention of world’s children’s rights at the General Post Office.

The postage comes in a set of four 30sen stamps, each featuring in Bahasa Malaysia and English a child’s right to food, education, play and protection, while the RM1 stamp highlights the CRC.

The Braille feature on the RM1 stamp is recognition that all children have equal rights, including those with disabilities and not forgetting that this is the First Braille stamp for Malaysia

It was a seriously shocking news to all Malaysian Philatelist when Pos Malaysia decided to issue 16v x 50sen. Normally, a complete set will include 3-5 nos. Anyway, IMHO the full sheet looks great.

From theSTAR Malaysia

Pos Malaysia stamp and philately unit head Yasmin Ramli showing off the new stamps during a media preview Tuesday. KUDOS to Pos Malaysia for the efforts of promoting philately in the news and papers. Im sure all these efforts will catch the attention of younger generations in Malaysia.
