I truly appreciate the Government's effort to recognize philately and more importantly promoting philately. Truly a big Kudos and hats off to them. With this, I hope that philately activities in Malaysia will gain more recognition and maybe one day we could have our own International Stamp Fair. :)

Above are the tentative dates for the 2011 PSM Stamp Fair. Over the years, I can see that the number of dealers are definitely growing and its really good news for local philatelist. I truly hope we can have a World Class Stamp Fair very soon.

Last but not least, truly hope all of my friends especially locals would fully support the stamp fairs. Cya there!!!!

A stamp exhibition is held from the 15th Dec 2010 to 15th March 2011 at the National Museum of Malaysia. Frankly, I have no clue what is being exhibited as I didn't know about it until recently. It was rather a surprise but I'm happy that the Government has taken the effort to ensure philately will be an evergreen hobby in Malaysia. I'm sure with a joint effort form all sectors, Philately will make a great comeback in Malaysia.

For those who are interested, please refer to the map below:

Me and Pamela drop by MBPJ Library yesterday for the PSM Year End Stamp Fair. We were shocked as there was a good crow. This was a surprise as POS Malaysia was having the Stamp Week at Berjaya Times Square too. We expected people to be there. Anyway, it was a great event with a few new dealers, drawing competition for children, lucky draw and also a display of award winning exhibition.

Love the exhibits as there was just so much we could learn about. Most of all, we love the opportunity to meet all the senior philatelist and every conversation was a good learning experience.

Some pictures to share:

Come on and join the FUN. Im sure we will have a great time ahead...

Yes. I was in Singapore for a Business trip. Thanks to Terence, I got to know that some of the Post Offices in Singapore actually opens till 9pm. OMG, thats truly what Malaysia needs especially for people like me. I normally have to stay back in office till very late; moreover taking work back home seems inevitable all the time. It will be great if POS Malaysia could adopt this from our neighbours; I'm sure both locals and foreigners will appreciate it alot.

Sadly, I didnt have the chance to do any stamp shopping. I had alot of plans but again I have to remind myself that it was a business trip. This time around Business comes first. LOL. Anyway, Ive to thank my beloved wife as she took the initiative to visit the Novena Post Office which is near the hotel we were staying. Yes, she send out about 10 covers to friends she knew. So, for those who got the cover from Singapore, I truly hope all of you will like them alot as this is my wife's first try to send covers. Fingers cross, I hope she got all of u beautiful covers.

Again, I'm really sorry that I couldnt send covers to all but promise to do so when we visit Singapore again. That time around, it would definitely be for holidays.

PS: Pame's farmville buddies will definitely get a cover from Singapore. LOL

The World Best MC Competition 2009 has finally been concluded at Portugal 2010 and below are the results:

1st Prize : Portugal
2nd Prize : Cyprus
3rd Prize : Russia
4th Prize : Spain

Simply a showcase of ART if you ask me. Maximaphily is truly getting to me but it aint going to be an easy journey. So much to learn and definitely a lot of effort is needed to create Maxicards but the fruit of the labor is definitely satisfying. You have my word for it...

Guess what? Next week's stampfair announcement is published in today's THE STAR. That's really great news as publicity is essential to ensure philately continues to grow in Malaysia. Kudos to all who work towards it. I'm sure this time around, the fair will definitely attract alot of new faces.

I understand that it's a small column but trust me, this small steps are important to promote philately in Malaysia. Philately is in Malaysia to STAY!!!

PSM will be organizing another Stamp Fair on 18 & 19 September 2010 at MBPJ Library (Please refer to the map below). As usual we will have Clifford, Abdullah, Govin, and other dealers taking up tables. Hopefully, we will have more dealers this time around. I truly hope all my readers will support the event and really hope to meet you all there.

Agenda:
1. Dealers trading stamps.
2. Collectors fellowship and exchange of views on collecting experience
3. Advisory services by PSM on preparation of exhibits.

Sadly, I'm giving this fair a miss. I've pre-plan to go back to my hometown for holidays as its been quite a while since I last went home. Family comes first. Anyway, I'm sure everyone will have great fun during the fair. I'm sure we have much to learn from our senior members.

This is my first postcard from Myanmar and to my surprise its actually an invitation to a philatelic workshop in Myanmar. Sadly, I'm just too busy with my work and couldn't spare time to go there. Im sure I would have love to meet my Myanmar philatelic friends especially Thitar. However, my dearest friend Vera and Bob went to Myanmar and they definitely had the time of their life. Vera was there to give a workshop on thematic collection . In addition, there was an exhibit entitled Myanmar Philately - A New Approach which truly is a WOW factor.

I really hope to come to Myanmar one day and have a great meeting with all my philatelic friends there. Im sure we will have much in common and so much to learn from each other.

Me and my wife decided to join the FUN at GPO Kuala Lumpur today as the new Brave Warrior stamps were issued. Besides that, POS Malaysia was having a clearance sales. The crowd was definite good today but didnt really agree on how POS Malaysia conducted the sales for the FDCs. We would have preffered them to have a booth rather than having people queuing; waiting for their turns. Definitely seem a little unfair. LOL...

Anyway, would like to share some photos:

Last but not least, it was a good day for me and my wife. Posted some beautiful covers, made some private MCs, met up with Stamp Buddies, and also got some goodies for my philatelic friends all over the world. Most of all, had a GOOD DATE with my beloved wife at the GPO.. LOL...

PS: Really appreciate my wife, Pamela for being with me even when I'm indulging in my Philatelic needs... HAHAHA
