This is yet another beautiful and complex pictorial postmark from China. I'm simply amazed with the details that went into the design. Kudos to POST China. This type of postmarks are definitely a gem among thematic collectors and fingers cross; hopefully China will come up with a beautiful Eagle postmark one day. Can't wait for it. LOL...

Another interesting thing about this cover is that it was send via surface mail. That's definitely something new for me especially when we talk about overseas mail. As always, looking forward to more friendly exchanges with all my friends.

Thanks to my dear friend, Xu Wei for these beautiful pictorial postmarks. Not really materials of my themes but Im really in love with pictorial cancellations from China. They are simply so beautiful that its a work of art by itself. Though I understand that not many are interested with pictorial postmarks as preference are given to normal postmarks, I on the other hand just can't resist pictorial postmarks especially on Eagles. Being a thematic collector, I personally understand how hard is it to get covers with pictorial postmarks relating to your theme. You should ask me about it... LOL

Hopefully, China will have Eagle postmarks in the future. Would definitely love to have that.

Though I rarely collect postcards unless they are prepaid, but when it comes to Bird postcards, it doesnt seem to matter after all. Thanks Emilia for this beautiful Duck postcard and moreover the block of 4 that you used for postage. Definitely a lovely postcard, even for me. Hahaha...

Ive always been a fan of Canada's bird stamps and hopefully I will be able to add more to my collection soon.

Thank You my friend, Walter aka bradpetehoops for this very beautiful postcard of the Great Philippine Eagle. Love it alot. Since eagles and doves are my favorite birds, this postcard is something I cherish alot. Thank you my friend and I hope you like the postcard Ive send you too.

The Philippine Eagle, Pithecophaga jefferyi, also known as the Great Philippine Eagle or Monkey-eating Eagle, is among the tallest, rarest, largest and most powerful birds in the world. A bird of prey belonging to the family Accipitridae, it is also known as "Haribon" or "Haring Ibon," which means "Bird King". Its local name is banog.

Thanks to my dear friend, Andre de Melo for sending me so many materials on my Christian themes, that being churches and pope. I really love all the materials and was certainly shock to get them. I do hope you like all the materials I've send you. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU my friend.

Cover

A beautiful registered cover franked with a complete set of American Heritage stamps issued on 25th September 2007. Really love the set of stamps for one of the stamp depicts the turkey. Turkey originates from North America, where it is also a main cuisine of North and Latin America. In 16th to 19th centuries, turkey was imported to Portugal and other European countries. As you can see from the stamps, food like sweet potato, maize, cocoa and passion fruit was also introduce to the European nations. The turkey depicted by the stamp was drawn by the famous Pierre Gourdelle in 1555.

FDC

A very very beautiful Christian FDC depicting Pope John Paul II. Truly a great material for my collection.

Pope John Paul II
or John Paul the Great, born Karol Józef Wojtyła served as Pope of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of Vatican City from 16 October 1978 until his death almost 27 years later. His was the second longest pontificate; only Pope Pius IX served longer. He was the only Polish Pope, and was the first non- Italian Pope since Dutch Pope Adrian VI in the 1520s.

John Paul II has been widely acclaimed as one of the most influential leaders of the twentieth century. It is widely agreed that he was instrumental in ending communism in his native Poland and eventually all of Central Europe, Southern Europe and Eastern Europe as well as significantly improving the Catholic Church's relations with Judaism, the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Anglican Communion.

He was one of the most-travelled world leaders in history, visiting 129 countries during his pontificate. He was fluent in many languages. As part of his special emphasis on the universal call to holiness, he beatified 1,340 people and canonised 483 Saints, more than the combined tally of his predecessors during the last five centuries.

Gifts From New York

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU PREMA for all this beautiful FDCs and postcards you got me. I cant seem to find the right words to say but I truly appreciate all your effort and support for my sometimes crazy obsession on philately.

Ive to admit there are times when I feel tired and sad to see my precious stamps get toned or attacked by fungus. Suprise? Dont be... Its actually a dilemma face by all tropical countries' philatelists. Toning is rather normal in countries like Malaysia thanks to her humid weather. A lot of care and attention have to be given and at times, it just drive you crazy to see stamps get toned or damaged.

I guess one of the reasons that keep pushing me towards philately would be the enormous support I got from my fiancee, family (Thanks mummy for being so patient with me all this while) and not forgetting friends mattering not whether they are philatelist or not.

I know Prema has gone into loads of trouble for getting me these FDCs and postcards especially when you are not a philatelist... I guess THANK YOU is all I can say and thanks for the support to keep me going.

FDCs

All this FDCs are simply marvelous... yes, some may argue that they don't compliment my themes but when its a sincere gift from a friend, I guess all those themes don't matter much after all.

Postcards

Lovely postcards... I know u enjoyed both the places very much and thanks for remembering me even with all those excitements... LOL

Thanks Matteo for this very beautiful Christian cover. This is a really good example of thematic covers. However, it would have been even better if the cover was hand canceled. For cover collectors, hand cancellation is a very important element we focused on. Nway, its still a great cover 4 me and will certainly b in my Christian cover collection.

Postcard From Finland

Thanks Sari for this very beautiful Olympic postcard. Love it alot but too bad the stamp was canceled by ball pen. I guess life isnt fair after all. LOL. Nway, still love the postcard alot.

The postcard depicts the tower of Helsinki OLympic Stadium. 1952 Summer Olympic Games was held in the Stadium that was inaugurated in 1938. The tower of the stadium, a distinct landmark with a height of 72 metres (240 ft), is open for visitors and offers impressive views over Helsinki.

Besides tat, the stadium was also the venue for the first World Athletics Championships in 1983 as well as for the 2005 World Championships in Athletics.

PS: Thanks Sari and looking forward for more friendly exchanges with u.

Yet another very beautiful postcard from China. This time its from Luhua. The postcard depicts the serene Sunset Glow Over Leifeng Pagoda. Leifeng Pagoda 雷峰塔 is a five story tall tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of the West Lake in Hangzhou. Originally constructed in the year AD 975, it collapsed in 1924 but was rebuilt in 2002, since when it has been a popular tourist attraction.

The pair of stamps on the top right depicts the Formosan Blue Magpies (Urocissa Caerulae) that was issued in 2002 while the single stamp depicts the Chines Monal (Lophophorus Ihuysii) that was issued in 2006. Love the stamps alot and thanks Luhua for the efforts but it would have been better if the stamps were stick properly.

PS: Dear Luhua, mayb u can help me with both the complete MNH set of these 2 issues... LOL... again showing my GREEDY side... OMG!!!!

Love this postcard from SuYue very very much especially with so many bird stamps but wud appreciate it if the stamps are stick properly. Hope all my readers can do me a favour when sending philately materials to me, pls make sure the stamps are stick properly for they are prone to be damage when send. Cant blame the postmen on this for we shud understand that stamps are so fragile that tearing them can sometimes b done by just a flick of the finger. Tats why I hope that all philatelist will make sure the stamps are stick and press properly before sending them. Better chance of surviving. LOL

The stamps depict the Taiwan Yuhina (Yuhina Bruneiceps) and was issued in 2006.

Thanks Su Yue and hope v can have many more friendly exchanges in the future... Mayb stamps? lol

Thanks Bee Kam for the beautiful postcard. Love it alot. The postcard depicts the Esplanade and love the Bird stamp used for the postcard.

The Esplanade is a waterfront location just north of the mouth of the Singapore_River in downtown Singapore. It is primarily occupied by the Esplanade Park, and was the venue where one of Singapore's largest congregation of satay outlets until their relocation to Clarke Quay as a result of the construction of a major performance arts venue, the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, which took its name from this location.

Thanks Tiago for this beautiful postcard. Love it alot. The postcard depicts a 14th Century silver and gold processional cross and its truly a great addition to my Christian collection. Hope to hear more from u.
